In general, all campers are expected to demonstrate a mutual respect for each other and for the staff. In order to provide the safest environment possible, we require strict adherence to all camp rules and policies. Typical consequences for violations of the rules may range from a conference with an appropriate staff member, to time out of activities. Corporal punishment is neither authorized nor permitted. For gross or repeated violation of camp rules, parents will be called and in extreme cases, campers may be dismissed from camp. In such cases, no refunds will be issued. (Please see refund policy above). Some of the violations that constitute grounds for expulsion from camp are:
- camper leaves his/her unit area after “lights out” without permission.
- possession or use of any tobacco, alcohol, drug or related paraphernalia.
- fighting with or intentionally hurting another person.
- any dangerous behavior that could cause grave harm to self or others.
- repeated or continued acts of disrespect to staff or other campers in action or language (please note that language at Camp Rotary should be appropriate at all times; foul language or racist remarks will not be tolerated).
- possession of a weapon at camp (please note that knives, even Swiss Army knives or jack knives, are not allowed in camp).
- possession of fireworks, lighters, matches.
- possession of pornographic material.
- theft or destruction of property of camp/other people.
- consistent violation of any camp rule or regulation.
